Description
Red with a yellow heart, very tall and proud. A true emperor tulip. Double and the favourite of florists. Blooms in April and May. A Darwin Hybrid.
Darwin Hybrids were created in 1943. Breeder Dirk Lefeber crossed the Darwin tulip with Tulipa fosteriana. The result is large, sturdy tulips on long stems, ideal as cut flowers. This cultivar is indeed the world's favourite. Red and yellow, very tall, and proud from top to bottom. Excellent cut flower. Sturdy stems for large arrangements. Use them as a background in borders. Bee-friendly. Every bulb produces something special.
