Description
This funny allium makes no smooth globe. Instead it creates a tangle of winding green tendrils, like hair standing on end. A curiosity in your border, truly a talking point.
Hair is botanically related to Allium vineale. It brings papyrus to mind. Or something out of science fiction. Both images fit. Those green thread-like 'hairs' stick out in every direction, no symmetry, pure texture. Good naturaliser, deer- and rodent-resistant thanks to its onion-scent. Not classically pretty, but interesting precisely for that. A texture element, a statement, an ice-breaker. Place it where you want something unexpected.
