From grey to colour.
Blom started with a question we kept hearing: why does it not work for me? Usually it was not the gardener. It was bulbs that were too small, had been stored too long, or were sold without any explanation.
So we went to the source. We sought out growing families, picked the strongest bulbs by hand, and wrote a planting guide anyone can follow.
Since then it is not about the bulb for us, but about the moment your spring stands in full bloom.
We grew up among the bulb fields.
Blom comes from the heart of the bulb region. To us it was simply normal: the fields that changed colour every spring, the lorries that came to collect the bulbs, the tourists who travelled far to see what lay around the corner for us.
Only later did we see how special that really is. The most beautiful flower bulbs in the world grow here. They go to England, to America, to Japan. Everywhere, gardens become more beautiful from what comes out of the Dutch soil here.
And then something struck us. In Dutch streets you mostly see paving. We make the world more beautiful with flower bulbs, but our own gardens stay grey.
We wanted to turn that around. Not by opening a shop with as many varieties as possible, but by making it simple: the strongest bulbs from the growers we know, with instructions you can really follow. And the promise that we will sort it out if it does not work.
