Ranunculus bulbs
Full flowers that keep well for a long time.
A single ranunculus holds dozens of petals, as thin as tissue paper, folded layer over layer. They open slowly, so the flower looks different every day. It flowers from May into July, grows to about 40 cm and lasts a long time in the vase.

Hand-picked for quality and size.
After soaking, plant the claws 3 to 5 cm deep and 10 to 15 cm apart, with the points facing down. Choose a sheltered spot in full sun, with soil that drains well. Heavy, wet clay is not for them. In a pot they do fine too.
Keep the soil moist without making it soggy, and cut off spent flowers. After summer the leaves die back. Then lift the little tubers out of the ground and store them dry, cool and dark until the next spring.
Practical: Ranunculus are not hardy here. Soak the claws in water for three to four hours, plant them in March or April with the points facing down, and lift them out of the ground in autumn.
