Description
A Kaufmanniana tulip in yellow-red that opens to a star in the sun. One of the earliest, one of the longest-blooming. March, April.
Stresa is a Kaufmanniana tulip, also called the Water Lily tulip. In sunshine this flower unfolds wide to a star. Yellow base with red flames, also called Indian yellow with chili-red. Height 15 to 25 centimetres, so low, and very early. It is one of the longest-blooming of all botanical tulips. You have it for weeks. Scented. Good for pots and border planting. Not as a cut flower. Doesn't really naturalize, so replant each season. Blooms alongside crocuses and before most daffodils, so pair it there.
