Description
Royal purple in classic form. This is a Triumph tulip, the largest and most reliable group of all. Height 45 centimeters, sturdy build, blooms in April and May.
Purple Prince is one of the stronger representatives of the Triumph group. That royal purple is warm and intense. Fragrant. Plant in full sun or half shade, in well-draining soil. Triumph tulips originated around 1923 by crossing early and late tulips. The result is the largest tulip group today. They are known for sturdy stems and reliable blooms. And you can plant them almost anywhere. In borders, pots, large groups or as a single accent. Excellent cut flower. Bee-friendly. Low-maintenance, yes, but never boring: a pure classic that never goes out of style.
