Description
The first and only purple Darwin hybrid ever bred. Large, sturdy, clear lilac-purple that looks intense. This flower is history, and you feel it at once.
Purple Pride is a Darwin hybrid. It is the result of a cross between two giants in the tulip genus. Height around 55 centimeters, wide, strong stems that withstand wind and rain. Large flowers, long-lasting in full bloom. Lightly fragrant. That purple color is so unique it always stands out. A cool, intensely saturated lilac that flares dark burgundy in the light. Excellent for cut flowers. Plant in full sun and well-draining soil. Exceptional for this color: it naturalizes and comes back for years. Bee-friendly. Perfect as a central accent in large groups.

Rule of thumb: plant a bulb two to three times as deep as the bulb is tall. The exact depth and spacing for this variety are on the planting card attached to the bag and in the planting guide we send along.
Fully grown, this tulip reaches about 50-60 cm. Useful to know for the order in your border: low at the front, tall at the back.
