Description
White-yellow, small and elegant, a botanical species that stands close to the wild tulip. Polychroma grows low, just ten to twenty centimeters. It blooms early, from March through May. Often there are several small flowers per stem. This small wild tulip naturalizes and comes back each year on its own.
Tulipa polychroma is also called the two-flowered tulip. It is perfect for rock gardens, border edges and pots. The small bulbs are not much bigger than a thumb. Still they give joy year after year. Naturalizing means they multiply themselves year after year. That works best in well-draining soil with full sun.
