Description
Purple with pointed, gracefully outward-curving petals that look like lilies. This is a lily-flowered tulip, recognizable by that delicate flower form. Pieter de Leur blooms in April and May. It grows up to sixty centimeters tall. Long, slender stems carry the flower with grace.
Lily-flowered tulips are refined and somewhat looser in growth than classic tulips. They sway freely in the wind. Plant it where that elegance shines, in mixed borders or large vases. The purple color is restrained yet intense. The long stems make it a dream as a cut flower. It stands stately and graceful in a vase.
