Description
Dark and dramatic, with petals full of copper gleam. This double late tulip blooms in late April and May, when most tulips are fading. The full, peony-like flower stands up to fifty centimeters tall. It holds its shape for weeks.
Nachtwacht takes its name from Rembrandt's masterpiece in Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum. Early buds open slowly, which lengthens the display. Plant it where you can admire it as you pass, in borders or large pots. It also looks lovely in water with some greenery for contrast. The full bloom makes it a beloved cut flower that lasts long in the vase.
