Description
This triumph tulip was born by happy accident. She arose as a mutant in a batch of Gavota. That mutation gave her a unique colour that gradually shifts. She opens in deep burgundy with a broad copper edge. Then she fades gently toward purple-red with a soft pink outline. She grows to 50 centimetres and blooms in April and May.
Muvota is short for "Mutant Gavota". That was simply the label on the bag at the nursery. The tulip herself is elegant, slender and stylish. She's a triumph tulip, so sturdy stem, classic flower form. Plant her where you can watch her change colour. In larger blocks or in pots on the terrace. She's fragrant and suitable for garden and vase.
