Description
A fringed tulip in a blend of red and yellow. Warm and lively, with that fine crystal-like edge that constantly catches your eye. She grows to 50 centimetres and blooms in April and May. The frills shimmer in the light as if made of glass.
Mercure is named after the Roman god, the winged messenger. That fits: the blend of red and yellow is quick, lively, always in motion. The fringe gives texture and movement to the flower. She's fragrant. Plant her alongside soft green or white tulips that let her breathe. She's excellent as a cut flower.
