Description
This single late tulip is named after a sunny coastal town on the French Riviera. She's very tall. Up to 70 centimetres, and blooms late in the season. The colour is complex. The outer petals are soft pink with an orange-yellow edge. Inside are bands of white, yellow and green, with red and orange tips.
Menton belongs to the so-called French tulips. They're widely grown in southern France for cut-flower production. This makes them strong, robust garden tulips that handle wind and rain. She's very tall and ideal as a standing flower in the bed. She holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. She blooms in April or May, preferably May. She's excellent as a cut flower: long stems, complex colour, long bloom time. Pair with pastel or clear tones where she can breathe.
