Description
Bright orange with the fine crystal-like frills that are typical of fringed tulips. The edge glimmers in the light. She grows on sturdy stems to 50 centimetres, and blooms in April and May. In your garden she stands out without being shrill.
Louvre Orange belongs to the Louvre family, named after the famous museum in Paris. The tulip itself carries the museum's name, which of course brings a certain elegance. As a fringed tulip she benefits from those fine edge-details. They catch the light and make the colour shimmer. She's fragrant and suitable for both ground and pot. The stems are sturdy enough for a vase.
