Description
Less than 20 centimetres tall, but full of secrets. This small botanical tulip opens cherry-red. The heart is deep cornflower-blue, ringed by a fine white circle. She opens star-shaped, and gives two to five flowers per bulb. Far more work than you'd expect from something so small.
Little Beauty is a botanical tulip, not hybridised, so truly wild. This means she comes back here every year. You don't need to dig her up. You just leave her. Next spring she'll pop up again. She's fragrant, which is rare for tulips. Plant her in large groups, at least 25–50 bulbs together. Otherwise she'll disappear among everything else green. She loves very well-drained soil. She naturalises beautifully in a sunny spot and is beloved by bees and bumblebees.
