Description
This double late tulip changes day by day in your garden. She opens in warm copper-gold, becomes salmon-apricot, and fades gently toward soft pink. As the flower ripens, it grows more beautiful, not old.
La Belle Epoque means "the beautiful era" in French. That was the period before World War One, full of style and nostalgia. This tulip feels that way too. The full petals remind you of a rose. In a vase she lasts seven weeks or more. Most garden centres barely sell her. She's famous in the cut-flower trade, but supply is limited. Plant her as a focal point in larger blocks. In pots you can watch her grow up close. She pairs beautifully with soft tones: pastel pink, mauve, cream and pale green.
