Description
The original: a creamy-white ball of ice cream. It rises from a collar of pink and yellow-green petals. No two flowers open exactly alike. A Double Late tulip that, when fully open, "melts" into a peony-like bloom.
Short and sturdy, twenty to thirty centimetres. Plant them in groups, so the heavy flowers support each other. Honest drawback: double tulips sometimes need shelter from hard wind and heavy rain. That enormous full flower costs the bulb a lot of energy. In a pot, give her at least five litres of soil. Excellent cut flower, especially once the white heart fully develops. Perfect as a focal point, not as filler. Short and sturdy, so ideal for pots and containers. April and May.
