Description
Primrose-yellow with deep red flames across the entire length of each petal. This pattern extends from foot to tip. Helmar is a Triumph tulip that immediately stands out.
She stands out for her sturdy stem and her flower quality. She was given the Award of Garden Merit by the British horticultural society. That award only goes to plants that truly perform in the garden. She blooms from April well into May, more than two weeks per bulb. Very good vase life too. Thirty to fifty centimetres. Plant in groups so the flamed pattern really comes into its own. Yellow and red pair beautifully with warm pastels and green. Deeper red gives a tone-on-tone effect. Sun and good drainage. Cut flower quality from the start.
