Description
In April and May, this giant emerges: pyramid-shaped flower heads in pure buttercup yellow. Up to sixty-five centimetres tall, on one unshakeable stem. Perfect as a focal point in any arrangement, or alone as an eye-catcher.
Darwin hybrids were created in 1943: a masterpiece of breeding. Dirk Lefeber crossed the Darwin tulip with Tulipa fosteriana. That produced a group of giants with extraordinary stems. Golden Parade is a striking example. Large pyramid-shaped flower with a contrasting black heart. The colour is deep yellow and holds for a long time. They excel as a cut flower: very long vase life. Wind and rain have little power over this steel construction. Plant them generously, place them in the foreground or middle of the border. They want sun and good drainage. Combine them with red companions like 'Parade' for a tone-on-tone effect.
