Description

In April, flowers bloom in bright red and warm yellow: two colours at once. This parrot tulip has ruffled, feathered petals that look like bird plumes. Tall and sturdy, up to fifty centimetres high.

Parrot tulips started as unexpected mutations in regular tulip fields. Their frilly edges and bold colours stood out. Garden Fire combines that wild beauty with a strong stem. It handles wind and rain well. Plant them in groups for full effect, or alone where you'll look at them often. They make excellent cut flowers and last a long time in the vase. Give them sun and treat them like all tulips. They want well-draining soil and no wet feet. Bees and butterflies love them.

The Firebird. Feathered petals in red and yellow, wildly beautiful.

The bulbs come from the Dutch bulb fields. Hand selected for quality and size, and delivered at the right planting time. A larger bulb holds more food, and you see that in the flower: more blooms, and fuller.

We offer our 100% Bloeigarantie. If nothing comes up, send us a message. You will get new bulbs, or your money back.

Questions about this tulip.

Plant this tulip in Jan, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec. As long as the ground is not frozen, there is still time.
Rule of thumb: plant a bulb two to three times as deep as the bulb is tall. The exact depth and spacing for this variety are on the planting card attached to the bag and in the planting guide we send along.
Fully grown, this tulip reaches about 45-55 cm. Useful to know for the order in your border: low at the front, tall at the back.
Yes, but not every tulip equally strongly. Botanical tulips and Darwin hybrids come back for years; large-flowered tulips are at their best in the first year.
We offer 100% Bloeigarantie. Send us a message and we will send you new bulbs, or refund you in full.
Cool, dry and dark, in the opened bag so they can breathe. Do plant them as soon as possible, because bulbs are not a storage product.
