Description
In April and May, Fly Away spreads her slender, lily-like flower. Fiery orange-red with gold-yellow edges, 50 to 60 centimeters tall. That shape evokes flying birds, fitting the name.
Fly Away is a lilyflowering tulip: pointed, outward-bending petals like wings. Historically: in Ottoman and Persian tulip times, such "needle tulips" were wildly popular. This type refers directly back. Beautiful silhouette, elongated and elegant. Plant in full sun, ideally sheltered. Good cut flower. That gold-yellow edge makes her even more elegant.
