Description
April to May: pure bright yellow with finely fringed edges. The fringe gives this yellow tulip more refinement than solid yellow alone would have. Crystal Star stands on tall stems forty-five to fifty-five centimetres.
This is a Fringed tulip, the group of dentate-edged tulips. That fine toothing makes the yellow more interesting. Light catches in those little teeth, creating more glitter. Plant them in groups of seven to ten so you see that fringe well. They smell pleasant. They are fine cut flowers, that fringe makes any arrangement more refined. They love full sun; the fringe glints more in bright light. They do not naturalize, so each year the same yellow starlight.
