Description
April to May: red-yellow fringed, elegant and translucent in form. Crystal Beauty stands on tall stems forty-five to fifty-five centimetres. That fringe works better the higher you go.
This is a Fringed tulip, the group of finely dentate-edged tulips. That delicate toothing makes every bloom more complex. The edge catches light and shadow, creating more depth. Plant them in groups of seven to ten so that the fringing really shows. They smell pleasant. They are fine cut flowers, that fringe makes any arrangement more interesting. They love full sun; the fringe glints more in bright light. They do not naturalize, so each year the same elegance.
