Description
March to April: red-white double flower, early blooming. The stem is short, thirty to forty centimetres. Cilesta is slightly more compact than most Double Lates.
This is a Double Early tulip, the group of quick bloomers. They do not stand impressively high. So ideal for pots and front-of-border, where you see them close. The red-white fill gives structure. They smell pleasant. They are good cut flowers, though not as heavy as Double Lates. That makes them easier to arrange. Plant them in groups of seven to ten. Then the two-color effect works well. They love full sun. They do not naturalize, so you are free in your timing and color choices.
