Description
March to May: red-yellow botanical tulip, small and elegant. Clusiana Tubergens Gem stands on a stem twenty-five to thirty-five centimetres. Not monumental, but perfectly proportioned.
This is a botanical tulip. That group of old species stays close to its wild roots. They bloom early and long, and feel refined. Plant them in small groups of three to five so you see each one well. Botanicals disappear in broad drifts. They love full sun and well-drained soil. They smell pleasant. They are small for cut flowers, but charming for children or small table arrangements. They do not naturalize, so the same elegance each year.
