Description
April to May: deep purple, sober and elegant. Candy Prince stands on stems forty to fifty centimetres tall, classically upright. This is a Triumph tulip. The group of steady, reliable forms.
Purple is rare in tulips; Candy Prince is one of the better examples. Plant it alone, not mixed. This color needs space to speak. Large groups of seven to ten so the purple truly emerges. They love full sun; part shade dims the color. They smell subtly pleasant. They are fine cut flowers. That purple is more striking in a vase than in the border. They do not naturalize, so you choose each year whether to have this color.
