Description
April to May: red-yellow bicolor. It looks as if you dipped a red royal scepter in yellow wax. Cadans is a Triumph tulip: the group of steady, mid-height forms. They work everywhere: in borders, in pots, in window boxes.
This is a reliable classic. Plant them in groups of seven to ten; they provide structure and warmth. They stand on stems forty to fifty centimetres tall. Not too high, not too low: perfect for the middle of a border. They love full sun. The scent is subtle and pleasant. They are good cut flowers, not as heavy as doubles, not as fragile as botanicals. They do not naturalize, so you choose each year whether to have them.
