Description
Sunny red on strong, straight stems. May, 50 to 60 centimetres tall. Large format, scented, perfect as a cut flower.
Amsterdam is a Triumph tulip. That group was born in 1923. Growers crossed early tulips with late tulips. The result is reliable and strong. No spectacular quirks, just solid growers that return year after year. This red cultivar stands firm in wind and rain. Cut, she keeps for weeks in the vase. 50 to 60 centimetres tall, scented, loved by bees and butterflies. Plant her in full sun or part shade, in well-draining soil. Suits pot and border, also good among low-growing garden plants. A cut-flower favourite.
