A large red bloom on an unwavering stem. May is his season. Firm, upright, and full of presence. You can spot him from far away.
Alfred Heineken belongs to the Darwin Hybrids. That group was born in 1943. Dirk Lefeber crossed Darwin tulips with Fosterianas. The result: large flowers on strong stems, exactly what a true tulip should be. This red cultivar stands 50 to 60 centimetres tall, scented, and blooms from April to May. He stands upright in wind and weather, thriving in garden and pot alike. Good as a cut flower indoors. Plant in full sun to part shade, in well-draining soil. Bees and butterflies love him.
The Steadfast. A red tulip that does not bend.
The bulbs come from the Dutch bulb fields. Hand selected for quality and size, and delivered at the right planting time. A larger bulb holds more food, and you see that in the flower: more blooms, and fuller.
We offer our 100% Bloeigarantie. If nothing comes up, send us a message. You will get new bulbs, or your money back.

Waar Darwin hybriden vooral bekendstaan om rood, oranje en geel, houdt deze het juist bij helder wit.

Als Darwin hybride draagt hij een grote kelk op een steel die wind en regen goed doorstaat.

Plant and leave; it needs hardly any attention and does the rest by itself.

You can have flowers without a garden. A few pots are enough.

Plant in autumn and enjoy a sea of colour in spring.

With the right bulbs you give bees and butterflies their first food.

Cut a bunch whenever you like. Grown by you, and it shows.

Give flowers that come back every year, not a bunch that wilts.
