The leaf is speckled like the back of a trout, and that is where the name trout lily comes from. The flower hangs downwards and the petals curl backwards, as if it has opened just a little too far. It flowers in March and April, grows 15 to 25 cm and then comes back on its own every year.

Hand-picked for quality and size.
Plant it in September or October, 8 to 10 cm deep and 10 to 15 cm apart. It prefers a cool spot in partial shade, in loose soil that stays moist but lets water drain away, such as at the edge of shrubs or under trees.
After that it is mainly one thing: leave it in peace. Do not prune, let the leaves die back on their own and do not move the bulbs. Then it slowly spreads. Only keep an eye on the slugs.
Practical: This bulb must not dry out. Plant it as soon as it arrives.
