Description

Before most spring bulbs have stirred, the reticulata iris arrives, and few are as quietly remarkable as Katharine Hodgkin. Its small, perfect blooms are washed pale silvery blue, finely veined in deep blue and lit with a yellow blotch at the heart, pushing through cold soil in the earliest days of spring. In March to May it is at its best in pots, rockeries and at the front of a border, where its detail can be properly admired. Hand selected from Blom's growers, these are iris bulbs chosen for the true to type colour and quiet vigour that make this variety worth coming back to every year.

Questions about this iris.

Plant this iris in Jan, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec. As long as the ground is not frozen, there is still time.
Rule of thumb: plant a bulb two to three times as deep as the bulb is tall. The exact depth and spacing for this variety are on the planting card attached to the bag and in the planting guide we send along.
Fully grown, this iris reaches about 10 - 15 cm. Useful to know for the order in your border: low at the front, tall at the back.
Yes, provided the soil drains well. The clump then becomes fuller every year.
Then we sort it out. All our bulbs carry the 100% Bloom Guarantee: if a bulb does not flower, we send new ones free of charge. It is that simple.
Cool, dry and dark, in the opened bag so they can breathe. Do plant them as soon as possible, because bulbs are not a storage product.
