Red-purple, slender bud, white base. Ruby Giant is one of the very first crocuses to bloom. Tommasinianus cultivar, a crocus that rodents leave alone.
This is a botanical crocus ignored by mice and squirrels. That's why Ruby Giant naturalizes excellently, increasing in number every year. Red-purple, slender buds and calyces with white base. Fragrant. The flowers open and close with warmth. Suitable for borders, lawn, pots, rock gardens. Leave the leaf alone after flowering; mow only six weeks later. Essential food for the first bees. An untouchable, reliable naturalizer.
