Gevonden bij Izmir, 1874
Henry John Elwes vond dit forse sneeuwklokje in 1874 in de bergen bij Izmir; het werd naar hem vernoemd.
As early as January, sometimes straight through snow. This is the giant snowdrop: larger foliage, stronger bulb. The flower has more presence too. White with green, and bees are welcome.
Elwesii after a 19th-century English botanist. It established itself on old country estates and naturalizes into carpets. Half shade is ideal; any soil works. Unlike the common snowdrop, elwesii also seeds itself. Your colony grows doubly fast. Scented; toxic if eaten; rodents avoid it. Good in pots, also for cutting in mini-bouquets.
The Larger. Bigger than nivalis, more blue-green foliage, returns more robustly.
Hand selected for quality and size, and delivered at the right planting time. A larger bulb holds more food, and you see that in the flower: more blooms, and fuller. We offer our 100% Bloeigarantie. If nothing comes up, send us a message. You will get new bulbs, or your money back.
