Description
At the end of winter no other flower comes up with such a powerful yellow. Golden Yellow has been in commerce for almost 400 years. It is still the strongest yellow at that time of year.
This is a large botanical crocus (Crocus flavus), large-flowered and vital. The gold works only in groups, not in small numbers. With twenty or more bulbs it fills a lawn edge completely. Golden Yellow naturalizes excellently, but watch the leaf. It is a late grower and needs that leaf badly for next year. Mow only six weeks after flowering, not earlier. Suitable for borders, lawn, pots. Fragrant, essential food for the first bees and bumblebees after winter.
