Description
Soft blue and delicate: Blue Ice is one of the first with that cool color. The flowers open wide when the sun breaks through. In February you already see them in the grass.
This is a large-flowered crocus of the vernus type. The flowers are sizeable and really stand out. Soft blue, fragrant, good at naturalizing. The flowers open wide as soon as the sun shines on them. In cloud and cold they close again. This protective mechanism keeps the pollen dry. That pollen is crucial food for bees just waking up. Suitable for borders, lawn, pots and along paths. Leave the leaf alone after flowering, or the new bulblets are lost.
