Description
White globe of 50 to more than 100 densely-packed pointed flowers. The stem stands more than a metre tall. An architect of light. Set against a dark background, this lamp-post shines with full force.
Mount Everest earns its name rightly: this is the tallest white allium in current cultivation. Botanically Allium stipitatum 'Mount Everest', a true architecture-allium. Fine pointed flowers in pure white, densely packed, and on stems to 120 centimetres. Flowers from late spring and the globes remain decorative for months. Good cut flower, highly interesting as a dried flower. Plant it at the back of the border as backdrop for lower planting. Loved by bees and butterflies, deer-resistant.
