Leucojum bulbs

For the wet corner of your garden too.

All six petals are the same length, each with a little green dot on the tip, and that is the difference from a snowdrop. The spring snowflake flowers from February to April and grows 15 to 25 cm; the summer snowflake follows in April and May and grows twice as tall. Both can cope with soil that stays wet, and few bulbs can.

Hand-picked for quality and size.

Planting is possible from September through November, 8 to 10 cm deep and about 10 cm apart, in sun or partial shade. The summer snowflake even copes with heavy, wet soil and the edge of a pond. In a large container both will do fine.

Let the leaves die back on their own after flowering and leave the bulbs in peace. A small group then grows into a good-sized clump that comes back every year. Mice and deer leave the bulbs alone.

Practical: These bulbs dry out quickly. Plant them soon after they arrive.
