Description
This double late tulip blooms in soft rose-pink. The petals are packed tight, like a rose. She typically gives 2 to 4 flowers per stem in a little cluster. She grows to 50 centimetres and blooms in April. Sometimes a bit earlier than many other double tulips.
Mariage means "wedding" in French. She's also widely used as a bridal flower or peony alternative. She's the successor to the legendary Angelique. For decades that was THE double pink garden tulip. Angelique is now harder to grow due to pesticide regulation. So breeders developed Mariage as a new alternative. She's recognised with the RHS Award of Garden Merit. She gives so many flowers per stem that the "wedding bouquet effect" is instant. Perfect for a garden where you want style and romance without fuss.
