Description
March to May: red-white botanical tulip, elegant in proportion, small but not timid. They stand on stems twenty-five to thirty-five centimetres tall.
Clusiana is a true botanical tulip, an old species. They bloom early and long, and feel refined. They have that open-and-close behavior: less pronounced than Kaufmannianas, but present. Plant them in small groups of three to five. Botanicals want to be visible, not lost in broad drifts. They smell pleasant. They love full sun and well-drained soil. Too small for serious cut flowers, but charming for small arrangements. They do not naturalize, so the same elegant story each year.
