Description

March to April: pure bright yellow, no faint pastels. Buttercup stands low, fifteen to twenty-five centimetres. The classic cup-shaped flower springs wide open in the first sunlight.

This is a Kaufmanniana tulip, the group of early, quick bloomers. They are known for their open-and-close behavior. They stand almost flat: perfect for the front of a border. Also for gravel gardens or the first layer of mixed plantings. Buttercup gathers plenty of sunlight and smells pleasant. They are compact in habit, wind-resistant, and grow full without fuss. A cut flower? Too small for serious arrangement work. Children gaze enchanted at yellow this bright. They do not naturalize, so the same show every year.

The Sun Goddess. Pure yellow, open-and-close, compact, March-April.

The bulbs come from the Dutch bulb fields. Hand selected for quality and size, and delivered at the right planting time. A larger bulb holds more food, and you see that in the flower: more blooms, and fuller.

We offer our 100% Bloeigarantie. If nothing comes up, send us a message. You will get new bulbs, or your money back.

About this tulip

What makes this tulip special.

Tulipa Buttercup

Rood buiten, goud binnen

Questions about this tulip.

Plant this tulip in Jan, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec. As long as the ground is not frozen, there is still time.
Rule of thumb: plant a bulb two to three times as deep as the bulb is tall. The exact depth and spacing for this variety are on the planting card attached to the bag and in the planting guide we send along.
Fully grown, this tulip reaches about 15 - 25 cm. Useful to know for the order in your border: low at the front, tall at the back.
Yes, but not every tulip equally strongly. Botanical tulips and Darwin hybrids come back for years; large-flowered tulips are at their best in the first year.
We offer 100% Bloeigarantie. Send us a message and we will send you new bulbs, or refund you in full.
Cool, dry and dark, in the opened bag so they can breathe. Do plant them as soon as possible, because bulbs are not a storage product.
