Description
Mid to late April: double and fringed at once. Brisbane is a rare combination: flowers as full as peonies. Every petal edge is finely dentate, as if trimmed with pinking shears. Colors vary: orange, peach, pink and pale yellow mixed, each flower slightly different.
This is new and still seldom offered, so you have something special. Plant it in full sun, sheltered from wind, in dense drifts. The tall stem of up to forty-five centimetres makes Brisbane an excellent cut flower. One stem fills a vase alone. They smell pleasant. Combine with white, chestnut, or deep purple for contrast. The blue-green serrated foliage is decorative from emergence onward. They do not naturalize, so you have the same surprise each year.
