Description
Chestnut to deep burgundy-purple, flamed and edged with black. Parrot tulip, 45 to 55 centimetres, May, extra-large petals with fringed feathery edge. Scented, dramatic cut flower.
Black Parrot is a classic parrot tulip with large format and intense colour. Chestnut-brown to deep burgundy-purple, flamed and edged with black. Sometimes with contrasting white "swirls" on petals. Extra-large petals with the typical fringed feathery parrot edge, opens wide in sun. Scented, an unusual plus. Late-blooming. 45 to 55 centimetres, a dramatic cut flower that lasts for weeks. Plant in full sun to part shade. Pair her with lighter late-blooming tulips for contrast.
