Description
Lilac-rose petals with golden-yellow heart, opens flat like a cup. Botanical tulip, small but unusually full of blooms. March to April, naturalizes well. Loved by bees and butterflies.
Lilac Wonder is a botanical tulip from Crete, smaller than cultivated varieties. Yet she flowers more richly than you would expect from a botanical species. Lilac-rose petals, golden-yellow heart. This colour combination is unique among tulips. Early bloomer (late March to all of April), naturalizes excellently, needs no digging. 15 to 25 centimetres. Plant in full sun to part shade, well-draining sand or gravel. Pair in front of daffodils. The lilac petals contrast beautifully with yellow accents. Scented. Loved by bees and butterflies.
