Description
Small, white with pink blush. She blooms as early as March, when almost nothing else is awake. Water-lily tulip, the flower opens flat in the sun like a cup. 15 to 25 centimetres.
Ancilla is a Kaufmanniana or water-lily tulip. Not a cut flower, but a garden jewel. Early blooming, suitable for pots and rock gardens. Small, delicately built, scented. Plant in full sun or part shade, in well-draining soil. She thrives in calcium and dolomite-rich soils. March-April bloom. Bees and butterflies love her. Not suitable as a cut flower but beautiful in small arrangements.
