Description
February brings them. Dwarf irises in deep purple. They grow no taller than 15 centimeters.
They look good at the front of a border. In a stony pot on the terrace too. Iris Purple Hill is a reticulata cultivar. She blooms early and stays low. She loves well-draining sand. Sun to partial shade is fine. She cannot take wet feet. Plant in October in groups of ten or more. Only then does the effect show. She has a soft scent. For pollinators she is an early nectar source. In a large border you barely see her. Close to the path she comes into her own. Every year she returns stronger in the same spot.
