Description
In March, golden star-shaped flowers appear. Bees arrive. They settle in your wooden hotel. You watch as spring unfolds.
These are small wild tulips: Tulipa tarda. They don't come from mixed varieties, but from nature itself. Star-shaped, golden-yellow with cream-coloured petal tips. They stay low, never taller than twenty centimetres. Place them in sunny spots with well-draining soil. Once planted, they grow back each year. You won't need to do anything else. They are true bee plants: bees recognize them from far away. Plant them alongside muscari or small daffodils. You'll get an early spring show that returns every year.

In autumn, from September through November. As long as the ground is not frozen, there is still time. The bulbs root quietly and flower in spring.
Rule of thumb: plant a bulb two to three times as deep as the bulb is tall. The exact depth and spacing for this variety are on the planting card attached to the bag and in the planting guide we send along.
Yes, but not every tulip equally strongly. Botanical tulips and Darwin hybrids come back for years; large-flowered tulips are at their best in the first year.
