Size and height
Grows to about 150 - 180 cm tall. A large purple-and-white bicolour globe of some 10 cm, on the tallest stem of all.
Record height: up to 180 centimetres, the tallest allium there is. Flowers only in high summer (July–August) when nearly all other alliums are already finished. Bicoloured flowers: purple-with-white.
Summer Drummer closes the allium season and does so in style. The name fits: it feels like the final chord of a long sonata. That height means you see it everywhere in the border. Expect 150 to 180 centimetres. Bicoloured globes built from hundreds of purple-with-white stars. Even before flowering it has ornamental value. Those 'nightcap'-shaped buds on thin stems are sculptures. After flowering, decorative seed heads. Deer- and rodent-resistant, beloved by bees and butterflies. Combine it with other tall summer bloomers. Think crocosmia, canna, dahlia, or agapanthus.
The Tallest. High to the end, blooming to the end.
The bulbs come from the Dutch bulb fields. Hand selected for quality and size, and delivered at the right planting time. A larger bulb holds more food, and you see that in the flower: more blooms, and fuller.
We offer our 100% Bloeigarantie. If nothing comes up, send us a message. You will get new bulbs, or your money back.
