Description
Mandarin-orange with golden base and black stamens, a true spring opener. Orange Emperor is a Fosteriana tulip, also called an Emperor tulip. It blooms in March, when most others are still asleep. The flowers are large and last for weeks, both outside and in water.
Fosteriana tulips are known for their generous, early bloom and sturdy build. Choose full sun and well-draining soil. Plant them with daffodils for a meadow effect in sunset colors. Or set them in the middle of the border. This orange classic attracts bees and butterflies. In a vase its warm color lasts for weeks.
