Description
Fine, crystal-like frills run along the edge of this deep purple bloom. It looks as though frost has touched them. In spring you'll see them glimmer in the light. The colour shifts subtly with the angle of the sun. Sometimes plum-dark, sometimes warm brown.
Labrador is a fringed tulip of the finest workmanship. She grows to 50 centimetres on sturdy stems that handle wind and rain. The petals remind you of ornate lacework. In your garden she looks best against soft pink or smoky purple. Fresh green works well as a foil. As a cut flower she holds her own in modern arrangements. That fringe gives texture every florist wants.
