Description
Small, star-shaped, with bumblebees hovering over. Hilde is a botanical tulip. A selection of the wild tulip of Crete. Born and bred in the Netherlands. She naturalizes and returns again and again, year after year.
Up to three flowers per stem. White opening with blush-pink inside and deep yellow heart. Outside light pink with darker marking. Stays low, ten to twenty centimetres. For rock garden, pots, front of border. Withstands harsh winter cold. They want well-draining, gritty soil. Because they stay low, plant at least twenty-five together. She naturalizes reliably in sunny spots. Beloved by bumblebees and bees, true bee plants. Blooms March to May.
